Pomegranate (Art print)
The pomegranate is a very interesting and even mythical fruit. I painted it because it is a typical Greek fruit and the modern day symbolism is that when you gift it to someone it's for good luck. Tradition is that during New Year's Eve you break the fruit for good luck. (Don't worry we put it in a bag so nothing goes to waste. )
When we go back in time. Way back in time ... This legendary fruit is very popular in Greek mythology. One of the stories it appears in is the story of Persephone and her mother Demeter. The pomegranate seeds made it possible for a daughter to reunite with her mother and make flowers bloom and nature flourish in spring and summer.
The art is inspired by photos that I took myself while traveling to Greece. This piece will bring Mediterranean beauty into your home.
With the beautiful symbolism behind this mythical fruit wish yourself or someone special all the luck and happiness.
